Chemours Belgium takes a stand for diversity and inclusion at Antwerp Pride

The Pride Employee Resource Group in action

This summer, we proudly organized our first participation in the Antwerp Pride event, held on August 12. It is a significant milestone for our brand new pride employee resource group (ERG). By actively participating in this celebration, Chemours solidifies its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our goal is to foster a safe workplace where every employee can authentically be themselves.

"The Antwerp Pride event provides a platform to showcase and embody Chemours’ values. I am delighted to witness how this Pride event and our pride ERG not only unite members of the LGBTQIA+ community but also serve as a dynamic source of mutual enrichment for our entire community”, shared Jolien Bogaert, EMEA Customer Service Supervisor for our Thermal and Specialized Solutions (TSS) business.

The city of Mechelen, where one of our sites in Belgium is located, recently joined the Rainbow City Network Rainbow City Network, a coalition of cities promoting visible inclusion while sharing experiences, expertise, good practices, and facing challenges together. These values strongly resonate with Chemours Belgium. Highlighting that 42% of local positions are held by female employees, and 7.5% are filled by non-Belgian employees, underscores the alignment of values between Chemours and the city of Mechelen.

This year's Pride parade, themed "Braveolution," marked the largest ever, featuring 74 delegations and 140,000 participants at the start. Antwerp Pride sends a powerful call for courage to build more inclusive and vibrant communities, a call echoed by both Chemours and the city of Mechelen. Together, we continue to champion diversity, equity, and inclusion, creating a positive impact not only within our organization but also in the broader community we proudly serve.
