Our suppliers are a crucial component of the Chemours value chain, and we wish to share our enthusiasm for corporate responsibility with them. In order to do that, we’ve asked our suppliers to become part of the Supplier Corporate Responsibility Assessment (SCRA), and more of them are joining up.
Our 2020 Supply Chain Highlights
- Received the EcoVadis silver medal for the second year in a row.
- Spent 10% of our procurement budget with local suppliers in significant locations of operation.
- Uncovered that our assessed suppliers held an average environmental score of 52%—above the EcoVadis benchmark of 46%—with 65% having established environmental reporting and 45% enjoying ISO 14001 certification at one or more operational site.
- Determined the average fair business practices score for our current assessed suppliers to be 50%—above the EcoVadis benchmark of 41%—with 71% having anticorruption policies and 69% having whistleblower procedures in place.
Fostering a More Sustainable Supply Chain
With an extensive network of more than 12,000 suppliers spanning over 70 countries, the Chemours supplier network is an essential component of the responsible chemistry we produce. We view our suppliers as an extension of ourselves, and we’re committed to working with suppliers who share our corporate responsibility ethos. That’s the linchpin of our responsible procurement philosophy. We help our suppliers become a part of our responsibility journey with our supplier corporate responsibility assessment (SCRA), and in 2020, supplier participation in that program grew to cover approximately 59% of our supply chain by spend—making significant progress toward one part of our goal.
