Chemours Releases Pressure-Temperature App Including HFO Technology

Chemours PT Calculator Mobile App Now Features Low GWP Opteon™ YF Refrigerant

WILMINGTON, Del., January 7, 2016 – The Chemours Company (“Chemours”) (NYSE: CC), a global chemical company with leading market positions in titanium technologies, fluoroproducts and chemical solutions has updated its award-winning pressure-temperature calculator mobile phone application to include its low global warming potential (GWP) Opteon™ refrigerants.

The latest version of the PT calculator app includes Opteon™ YF (HFO-1234yf) for automotive air conditioning, the recently commercialized Opteon™ XP series for stationary refrigeration, and many other developmental hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) refrigerants from Chemours that will be available over time. The app was designed with English units for the North American market in advance of the February MACS Training Event and Trade Show, and a metric-specific version will follow soon.

The free app, available through both iTunes and Google Play, includes both Opteon™ YF and R-134a, allowing service technicians to easily access accurate refrigerant data and enabling them to quickly and reliably service the air conditioning systems they are working on. The addition of Opteon™ YF to the program will allow increased use of this tool in automotive applications, where HFO-1234yf is expected to be used in more than 18 million vehicles globally by the end of 2016.

“When we speak to customers and end-users they say they are excited about our Opteon™ HFO refrigerants, and see them as the industry’s future,” said Diego Boeri, global business director, Chemours Fluoroproducts. “By continuously supporting the mobile and stationary aftermarkets with technologies such as the PT Calculator App, we hope to encourage growth of our Opteon™ product line as a lasting solution for the refrigerants industry to help meet the need for safe, high performance and low GWP refrigerants.”

The Opteon™ portfolio of fluorochemicals from Chemours represents a breakthrough line of low GWP solutions. They were developed to help meet increasingly stringent global regulations while often maintaining or improving performance compared to incumbent products. Chemours has invested millions of dollars to bring these new products to market and will continue to invest in new products and additional capacity as the need for low GWP solutions grows throughout the world.
