Fayetteville Works, constructed by DuPont, has been an active member of the North Carolina Sandhills community for more than 40 years. The 2150-acre Fayetteville Works site is situated along the Cape Fear River in Cumberland and Bladen Counties. Construction of the Fayetteville Works plant began in 1968, and 100 employees were working at the site when commercial production began in 1971. The plant's startup marked an era of rapid growth at Chemours and diversification in the company's plastic lines.
Today, the plant contributes millions to the local economy and employs around 900 employees who produce materials that make a wide variety of everyday products safer, stronger, better looking, and more durable.
