Energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions and heat recovery are important issues in most industries, but especially in the Power Generation industry. New developments and ideas are required in order to meet the demand for sustainability and to be able to achieve the targets set.
In partnership, the companies Chemours and Wallstein are continuously advancing the use of fluoroplastics for pressure tubing in flue gas heat exchangers for heat recovery and heat displacement solutions. This partnership is based, among other things, on long-term hydrostatic pressure tests obtained by the global corporation BASF Ludwigshafen, and corrosion testing in real field trials.
The result was that AlWaFlon™ pressure tubing — based on Teflon™ PTFE from Chemours — was approved by the South German certification organization TÜV-Süd due to its outstanding properties. This certification is required for all pressure tubing.
A number of projects have already been successfully implemented in close cooperation with the company Fluortubing B.V. of Utrecht, The Netherlands.
AlWaFlon™ is a registered trademark of Wallstein.
