Spiced Holiday Sammie Spread

Servings: 4 cups

Get the Pan!

Best of what's left inspired this recipe in our Teflon™ nonsticks test kitchen. One way to cheer up the letdown after the holiday meal is to serve leftovers. And who doesn't love a sandwich as a snack later that night or the next day. Well, with this spread, that sandwich just got a whole lot better. And go ahead, add a little mayo if you must for old time's sake!

1 cup water

1½ cups fresh (or frozen) cranberries

1 tablespoon grated orange zest

½ cup cherry, pomegranate, or cranberry juice

¼ cup honey

½ teaspoon cinnamon

¼ cup allspice

½ cup finely chopped raisins

½ cup finely chopped hazelnuts

In a medium saucepan coated with Teflon™ nonstick, combine the water with the cranberries and bring to a boil. Add orange zest and remaining ingredients except nuts. Reduce heat to simmer; cook 12 minutes or until most cranberries pop. Remove from heat and stir in with remaining ingredients. Let cool and refrigerate until ready to spread!
