Holidays Mornings' Apple-Sage Turkey Breakfast Patties Recipe

Sweet and savory, these morning-after egg or pancake sides are woody aromatic with fresh cinnamon and the ping of garlic and onion. Raspberry preserves hold the patties together, making them moist and fruity.

 

Ingredients

 

¾ cup (1 small) finely chopped sweet/tart cored apple

2 tablespoons minced fresh sage leaves

2 squirts fresh lemon

1 pound ground raw turkey meat

¼ cup raspberry jam

½ teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon salt; ½ teaspoon black pepper

2 cloves garlic, minced

½ cup finely chopped red onion

¼ cup chopped parsley and branches for garnish

¼ cup (½ stick) butter

Directions

Combine the apple with sage and lemon. Mix the turkey with the jam and cinnamon. Then add the garlic, onions, and ¼ cup (chopped) of the parsley; toss well with the apple mix. Form mix into 8 patties, about 3-inches round. In a large skillet coated with Teflon™ nonstick, melt the butter over medium heat and add the patties, cooking 3 minutes per side.
