Christmas Tree Pizza Starring 5 Golden Onion Rings

Servings: 8 slices

Boughs of fresh arugula, tinted with snowy white mozzarella cheese and glistening sundried tomatoes, cover the pizza skirt base of butternut squash sauce. Five gold onion rings are the star of this pizza baked on a nonstick pan that helps you express your joy (in lettering and graphics by Teflon™ nonstick coatings) to all the cooks and pizza lovers on your holiday gift list. 



1 medium butternut squash, cut in half, seeds removed, or premade butternut squash sauce

1 tablespoon olive oil, plus more for brushing

Pizza dough for 1 (10- to14-inch) nonstick pizza pan

6 thin slices Genoa salami

1 cup arugula leaves (you can substitute with spinach leaves)

½ cup finely chopped sundried tomatoes (not in oil)

½ pound sliced Mozzarella cheese

1 cup shredded extra-sharp Cheddar cheese

2 tablespoons Pecorino Romano cheese (or Parmesan)

5 premade golden (fried) onion rings

Preheat the oven to 450°. Peel the squash and cut it into ½- inch cubes. Place in a bowl and add the olive oil, coating well; transfer the cubes onto a baking sheet and cook for about 30 minutes, until the squash is tender and browned. Purée in a food processor; set aside.

Spread the pizza dough onto the TeChef Print Design Pizza Pan with Teflon™ nonstick coatings. Spread on ¾ cup or so of the squash purée (save any extra for another recipe), leaving a ½-inch border, and place the salami around the pie followed by arugula. Scatter the sundried tomatoes. Next add the Mozzarella, Cheddar and Pecorino cheeses. Brush the exposed rim of the crust with olive oil. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly. Let sit a few minutes; slice and serve, topped with the five golden onion rings.
