It’s the go-to item in the fridge. Like the favorite person in your life, you can’t live without this even if you don’t cook much. Lemon has a strong color and flavor. And yet, its M.O. is subtle when mixed with other ingredients. Mix the zest of a lemon with ½ cup of olive oil and let stand for half an hour before straining it, and you’ll have a simple infused lemon oil for rice, salad dressings, seafood or pasta.
