There are many varieties of radish. This so-called French breakfast radish – found at a farm market -- is sweeter than the round, heartier, solid red radishes. It is also crunchier, with faded shades of crimson. But there is no connection other than the name between these veggies and breakfast in France.
For fun, we tried them with the Frenchman’s favorite breakfast spread – Nutella. And wow, that makes a statement.
