A quick, cost-effective retrofit to address the phaseout of HCFC refrigerant blends for existing R-12 and R-500 equipment
The R-22 phaseout is continuing in the U.S. market, including the phaseout of R-22-containing service blends.
Freon™ MO49Plus (R-437A) was created to help address the R-22 phaseout, as an HFC retrofit for HCFC service blends like R-401A, R-401B, and R-409A, which are currently used to service existing R-12 and R-500 equipment. Freon™ MO49Plus can also be used to retrofit R-12 in automotive air-conditioning and stationary refrigeration applications.
During the R-22 phaseout, chemical manufacturers may still produce R-22 and HCFC service blends, such as R-401A and R-401B, to service existing equipment; however, HCFC service blend supplies will be limited by the availability of R-22 for use as a component in these service blends.
Freon™ MO49Plus (R-437A) provides a quick, cost-effective way to retrofit existing R-12 and R-500 equipment currently using HCFC service blends. It's a non-ozone-depleting HFC refrigerant and is compliant with the R-22 phaseout. In most cases, no oil change is required, as it is compatible with traditional and new lubricants. This product can also be topped off during service without removing the entire refrigerant charge.
Freon™ MO49Plus is not recommended for use in centrifugal compressor systems or for chillers with flooded evaporators or low-pressure receivers, and is not available for automotive air-conditioning in the U.S.
