Chemours Fire Extinguishants announces it has signed an agreement with Siemens Building Technologies to deliver FE-227™ fire extinguishant through the Siemens Sinorix™ fire extinguishing system, effective Jan. 1, 2006. FE-227™ fire extinguishant is a "clean agent," safe for use in applications where people are normally present and in situations where conventional extinguishing agents are unacceptable. Typical applications include the protection of sensitive electronic equipment, network data centers, hospitals, and facilities where there are delicate or irreplaceable materials such as those found in museums, libraries and historical sites. The science and technology brought together by Chemours and Siemens creates a powerful new combination for fire protection.
"We are very pleased to announce this new partnership," said Greg Rubin, global business Manager, Chemours Fluorochemicals Specialties. "FE-227™ fire extinguishant is safe and highly effective, and Siemens is a key global partner that will help us deliver this solution reliably, efficiently and effectively to benefit more businesses than ever before, on a global scale.
This is another example of how Chemours Fluorochemicals continues to reinforce its commitment its fluorine enterprise, from a broader perspective," said John McCool, global business director, Chemours Fluorochemicals.
This partnership with Siemens strengthens our fire extinguishants business, and is fundamental to our continued success.
"Siemens is committed to strengthening and extending the already established, long-term cooperation and partnership with a world-wide player like Chemours," said Georges Lespinoy, senior vice president, head of subdivision, Siemens Fire Protection. "By leveraging both of our widespread sales organizations, we will get closer to our customers to be able to offer outstanding solutions to protect their business from risk of fire. The Sinorix™ fire extinguishing system and the FE-227™ clean agent fit together to make this a truly superior system."
FE-227™ fire extinguishant is the leading clean agent designed to flood an enclosure, and is used where agents such as water, dry chemical and carbon dioxide are unacceptable because they cause damage to high-value equipment or present a safety risk to people. FE-227™ does not leave a residue and is electrically nonconductive and non-corrosive. FE-227™ is safe for use in applications where people are normally present (normally occupied spaces) for both Class-A and Class-B fire assets. It is also the most widely used clean agent, globally, for the replacement of Halon 1301, both for existing and new installations. It has zero ozone depletion potential and is environmentally preferred to Halon. For more information on Chemours Fire Extinguishants, visit Chemours Fire Extinguishants.
