Hyperox™ Applications

Surface Disinfection

The level of disease-causing organisms present after basic cleaning remains high enough to offer a serious disease challenge to livestock. Using a disinfectant proven to be effective against viruses, bacteria, yeasts and moulds such as Hyperox™, is essential.

Surface Disinfection  Dilution Rate   Application
Routine disinfection for all surfaces including, earth, wood and concrete

(10ml of Hyperox™ concentrate to 1 litre of water)

Using a pressure washer or other mechanical sprayer, apply Hyperox™ solution at an application rate of 300ml/m2

Routine disinfection of a 1000m2 building, with a total surface area of 2500m2 including walls and ceiling, at a dilution rate of 1:100 and an application rate of 300mls/m2, will require a solution consisting of 7.5 litres of Hyperox™ concentrate added to 750 litres of water.

Equipment Disinfection

Equipment Disinfection  Dilution Rate   Application
Routine cleaning and disinfection of movable equipment    1:100
(10ml of Hyperox™ concentrate to 1 litre of water)
Wash all equipment with Hyperox™ solution.  Leave for a minimum of 10 minutes and then rinse thoroughly with clean water

Water System Disinfection

All water systems contain some bacterial contamination, especially header tanks where dust and debris can accumulate.  Sanitising will clean the system and eliminate existing bacterial or fungal growth.

Water System Disinfection Dilution Rate   Application
Terminal disinfection of water systems  1:100
(10ml of Hyperox™ concentrate to 10 litres of water)
Isolate header tank at the mains and drain off drinker points farthest from the tank.  Clean out gross soiling from the tanks.  Refill with water and add the appropriate volume of Hyperox™ concentrate and leave for 10 minutes.  Flush through to all drain off points and leave for 30 minutes before refilling the water system with clean water.

Thermal Fogging

Hyperox™ has been independently approved in accordance with the French AFSSA for use in thermal fogging, under the requirements of the AFNOR test method NFT 72-281 (1986) for ‘Thermonebulisation’.

The approval demonstrates the efficacy of Hyperox™ with an in-use concentration of 1.7ml/m3 using three different types of fogging machine – an IGEBA™ TF35, a PULSFOG™ K22 and a SWINGFOG™ SN50. Other makes and models of thermal foggers can be readily used with Hyperox™.

The following table indicates the volume of Hyperox™ concentrate and water required to achieve effective thermal fogging within a given size of building:

Total Airspace
Volume (m3)
Volume of Hyperox™
concentrate (litres)
to achieve a 1:10
Volume of water
to be added to
concentrate (litres)
100 m3  0.17   1.7
200 m3   0.34   3.4
500 m3   0.85   8.5
1000 m3   1.70   17.0
2500 m3   4.25   42.5
3000 m3   5.10   51.0
3500 m3  5.95   59.5
4000 m3  6.80   68.0

How to calculate your buildings total airspace volume for thermal fogging:

The total airspace volume of a given building is the floor area multiplied by the average height.

For a pitched roof building, an average height is determined by measuring from the floor (point A in the diagram opposite), to halfway between the top of the buildings wall (point B), and the apex of the roof (point C):
