Teflon™ PFA fluoroplastic resins are typically used for electronic and specialty cabling applications. Our family of Teflon™ PFA resins combine the processing ease of conventional thermoplastic resins with excellent properties to meet many of your high-demand wire and cabling needs.
Teflon™ PFA fluoroplastic resins offer:
High chemical resistance
Superior electrical properties
High continuous service temperatures up to 260°C (500°F)
Superior creep resistance at high temperatures
Excellent low-temperature toughness
Exceptional flame resistance
Teflon™ PFA fluoroplastic resins can be processed by conventional melt-extrusion techniques as well as injection, compression, rotational transfer, and blow molding processes. The high melt strength and heat stability of these resins permit the use of relatively large die openings and high temperature draw-down techniques, which can contribute to improved processing rates.

Family of Teflon™ PFA Resins
For Wire and Cable Applications
Teflon™ PFA 340
Teflon™ PFA 340 is a general-purpose resin of intermediate molecular weight, mainly used for primary wire insulation in applications where good heat resistance is needed. Teflon™ PFA 340 is suitable for extruded tubing, hose, electrical insulators, sleeving, industrial film, and injection-molded articles requiring superior electrical, chemical, and thermal properties. Teflon™ PFA 340 is available in clear, 2.5 mm (0.1 inch) pellets.

Teflon™ PFA 345
Teflon™ PFA 345 is an extrusion and injection molding resin with good heat resistance and higher stress-crack resistance than Teflon™ PFA 340. Teflon™ PFA 345, with a melt-flow-rate of ~7, is an excellent choice for wire and cable insulation, injection-molded parts, and for linings in bellows, valves, fittings, pipes, and other fluid-handling components that require chemical resistance. Teflon™ PFA 345 is available in clear, 2.5 mm (0.1 inch) pellets.

Teflon™ PFA C-980
Teflon™ PFA C-980 (perfluoroalkoxy) fluoroplastic resin combines the chemical and high-temperature resistance of other Teflon™ PFA resins with antistatic levels of electrical conductivity. Teflon™ PFA C-980 fluoroplastic resin can be processed by conventional thermoplastic techniques such as melt extrusion, compression, transfer, and blow molding processes.
Properly processed products using Teflon™ PFA C-980 provide thermal stability at high processing temperatures along with chemical inertness to nearly all industrial chemicals and solvents. Molded products using Teflon™ PFA C-980 have moderate stiffness, excellent toughness, low coefficient of friction, non-stick characteristics, resistance to creep at high service temperatures, and excellent weather resistance.
